BSN Statement on UK civil unrest

In light of the civil unrest seen across the UK the BSN issues the following statement to all our members and neuroendocrine community:

The BSN celebrates the diversity of our community. We support members from all backgrounds; equality, diversity and inclusion are embedded into our values. There is no place for hate in our community.

If you have been affected or made to feel unwelcome as a result of the civil unrest in the UK, or you feel that you are at risk of being targeted because of your faith or background, or you have family, friends and colleagues in areas where civil unrest have broken out, please seek out the support that should be being offered by your universities. Members can prioritise their safety using the SafeZone app.

The BSN will continue to work towards our vision of supporting the neuroendocrine scientific community across boundaries and borders to improve science, knowledge and health for the public benefit.

Finally, we want to reiterate that discrimination and racist behaviour of any kind towards members of our community is not acceptable.

We send our support to all who are affected by these issues.
